Managing Shift Scenarios

Scenarios

After a schedule is created, you can add, delete, modify, and query shift scenarios and roles.

Creating a Shift Scenario

  1. Log in to COC.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Basic Configurations > Shift Schedule Management.
  3. Click Scenario Management in the upper right corner.
  4. Click Create Schedule in the upper right corner.
  5. Set the parameters for creating a shift scenario.

    Parameter

    Description

    Scenario Name

    Name of a customized shift scenario.

    Shift Type

    The options are Non-fixed shift (Monday-Sunday) and Fixed shift.

    • Non-fixed shift (Monday–Sunday): Engineers work different shifts depending on the schedule.
    • Fixed: Engineers work within fixed working hours.

    Scheduling Dimension

    The options are Application and Global.

    • Application: The schedule is created for an application in a specific region (optional).
    • Global: The schedule is globally used regardless of applications.

    Scenario Description

    (Optional) Enter the detailed description of the shift scenario.

  6. Click OK.

    The shift scenario is created.

Creating a Shift Role

  1. Log in to COC.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Basic Configurations > Shift Schedule Management.
  3. Click Scenario Management in the upper right corner.
  4. Locate the shift scenario for which you want to create a shift role and click Create Scheduling Role in the Operation column.
  5. Set the parameters for creating a shift role.

    Parameter

    Description

    Name

    Role name that you can customize.

    Scenario

    The preset value is the selected shift scenario and cannot be changed.

    Description

    (Optional) Enter the detailed description of the role.

  6. Click OK.

    The shift role is created.

Modifying a Shift Scenario

  1. Log in to COC.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Basic Configurations > Shift Schedule Management.
  3. Click Scenario Management in the upper right corner.
  4. Locate the shift scenario you want to modify and click Modify in the Operation column.
  5. Set the parameters for modifying a shift scenario.

    Parameter

    Description

    Scenario Name

    Name of a customized shift scenario.

    Shift Type

    The preset value is the selected shift type and cannot be changed.

    Scheduling Dimension

    The preset value is the selected dimension and cannot be changed.

    Scenario Description

    (Optional) Enter the detailed description of the shift scenario.

    The shift type and scheduling dimension in a scenario cannot be modified. You can create a schedule to specify the shift type and dimension you need as described in Creating a Schedule.

  6. Click OK.

    The shift scenario is modified.

  7. Click on the left of the scenario name.
  8. Locate the role you want to modify and click Modify in the Operation column.
  9. Set the parameters for modifying a shift role.

    The preset value is the selected shift scenario and cannot be changed.

    Description

    (Optional) Enter the detailed description of the role.

  10. Click OK.

    The shift role is modified.

Deleting a Shift Scenario

  1. Log in to COC.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Basic Configurations > Shift Schedule Management.
  3. Click Scenario Management in the upper right corner.
  4. Locate the shift scenario you want to delete and click Delete in the Operation column.
  5. Click OK.

    The scheduling scenario is deleted.

    A scheduling scenario can be deleted only when no scheduling role is used in that scheduling scenario.

  6. Click on the left of the scenario name.
  7. Locate the role you want to delete and click Delete in the Operation column.
  8. Click OK.

    The role in the shift scenario is deleted.
