Changing a DB Instance Description

Scenarios

After a DB instance is created, you can add a description.

Procedure

1. Log in to the RDS console.
2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
3. On the Instances page, locate the DB instance you wish to edit the description for and click in the Description column to make your modification. When you are finished, click OK.

   Alternatively, click the instance name to go to the Summary page. Under Description, click to edit the instance description.

   

   The DB instance description can include up to 64 characters, and can include letters, digits, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.).

   • To submit the change, click .
   • To cancel the change, click .

4. Check the results on the Summary page.
