Moving Huawei Cloud ECSs from Multiple Accounts to a Single Account

Creating a Migration Task

1. Obtain an AK/SK pair for the target cloud account.
   • If you are using a HUAWEI ID for migration, obtain an AK/SK pair by referring to How Do I Obtain an AK/SK Pair for a Huawei Cloud Account?
   • If you are using an IAM user for migration, obtain required permissions by referring to Using IAM Roles or Policies to Grant Access to SMS or Using IAM Identity Policies to Grant Access to SMS. Then, obtain an AK/SK pair for the IAM user by referring to How Do I Obtain an AK/SK Pair for an IAM User?
2. Install and start the SMS-Agent on the source server.

   Download and install the SMS-Agent that matches the source server OS.

   • Installing the SMS-Agent on Windows
   • Installing the SMS-Agent on Linux
3. Create and start a migration task.

   After the SMS-Agent is installed and started, go to the SMS console to create and start a migration task by performing the steps below.

   1. Configure the target server.
   2. Start a full replication and launch the target server.

   After the migration is complete, the target server uses the same login method as the source server.

   

   • If the source and target servers are in the same Huawei Cloud VPC, you can set Network Type to Private. During the migration, a data connection will be established using the private IP address of the target server, and no EIP is required for the target server.
   • If the source and target servers are in the same account and the same region but in different VPCs, you can establish a peering connection between the VPCs by referring to Creating a VPC Peering Connection to Connect Two VPCs in the Same Account. After that, you can select Private for Network Type.
   • If the source and target servers are in the same region but in different accounts and different VPCs, you can establish a peering connection between the VPCs by referring to Creating a VPC Peering Connection to Connect Two VPCs in Different Accounts. After that, you can select Private for Network Type.
4. Synchronize incremental data from the source server.

   After the target server is launched, if there are data changes on your source server, you can synchronize new and modified data from the source server to the target server. For more information, see Synchronizing Incremental Data.
