Operation Guide

Updated on 2024-12-25 GMT+08:00

The operations of cloud services that can be deployed in IEC HomeZones are basically the same as those of the original cloud services. Cloud services can be classified into three types:

  1. Cloud services related to AZs. When purchasing this type of cloud services, you need to select HomeZones for AZ Type. For details about other configurations, see the operation guide of the corresponding cloud service. For example, Elastic Cloud Server (ECS) and Elastic Volume Service (EVS).
  2. Region-level cloud services that are irrelevant to AZs. When purchasing this type of cloud services, you do not need to select HomeZones. You only need to perform operations by referring to the operation guide of the corresponding cloud service. For example, Host Security Service (HSS) and Web Application Firewall (WAF).
  3. Network cloud services. When using this type of services, you need to select options related to local lines. For details, see the operation guide of the corresponding cloud service. For example, Elastic IP (EIP).

Cloud Services Related to AZs

When purchasing a cloud service related to AZs, you must set AZ Type to HomeZones. For details about other operations, see the purchase or creation guide of the corresponding cloud service.

Description

Operation Guide

Elastic Cloud Server (ECS)

Set AZ Type to HomeZones.

Purchasing and Using an ECS

Elastic Volume Service (EVS)

Set AZ Type to HomeZones.

Purchasing an EVS Disk

Cloud Container Engine (CCE)

  • Purchase a CCE Turbo cluster.
  • During network configuration, select the VPC corresponding to the parent region. Cluster resources are deployed in the central AZ of the parent region. Select the subnet corresponding to the central AZ.
  • After a container cluster is created, you need to deploy container nodes and storage resources in the HomeZones.
  • In the Node Configuration area, select HomeZones for Node Type.
  • Create a PersistentVolumeClaim (PVC) and select the corresponding HomeZones.

For details about other configurations, see the CCE operation guide.

Cloud Services Irrelevant to AZs

When purchasing region-level cloud services that are irrelevant to AZs, see the operation guide of the corresponding cloud service.

Elastic IP (EIP)

When purchasing an EIP, you need to select the local line for EIP Type, that is, the line corresponding to the local city or region. After you select a local line, the network border group of the line is displayed.

For details about other configurations, see the EIP operation guide.

Assigning an EIP

Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)

When creating a VPC, you do not need to select HomeZones. But you need to select HomeZones when creating a subnet.

For details about other configurations, see the VPC operation guide.

Creating a VPC and Subnet

Direct Connect

When purchasing a Direct Connect, set Location to the region where the IEC HomeZones is located.

For details about other configurations, see the Direct Connect operation guide.

Creating a Connection

Cloud Connect

To enable communication between the parent region AZ and IEC HomeZones, you need to create an edge gateway and bind the edge connection of the edge gateway to the global private bandwidth of the cloud connection.

  • On the Huawei Cloud console, go to the Cloud Connections page. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Intra-Cloud > Global Connection Bandwidths. Click Buy Global Connection Bandwidth in the upper right corner.
  • Bandwidth Type: Select HomeZones.
  • Select an interconnection region as needed.

For details about other configurations, see the Cloud Connect operation guide.

Buying a Global Connection Bandwidth

Elastic Load Balance (ELB)

When buying a load balancer, select the parent region of the HomeZones for which the permissions has been granted, and select the HomeZones.

For details about other configurations, see the ELB operation guide.

Creating a Dedicated Load Balancer

Virtual Private Network (VPN)

When creating an Enterprise - VPN gateway, if you select HomeZones for AZ, you can only set EIP Type to the local line.

For details about other configurations, see the VPN operation guide.
