Managing IDC Resources
As enterprises' architectures diversify, they increasingly depend on both cloud resources and on‑premises devices to ensure stable services running. The core requirement is to use one platform to centrally manage the two types of resources to avoid efficiency loss caused by scattered operations to ensure smooth O&M. Under traditional O&M practices, cloud resources and on-premises devices are managed independently using different tools. O&M personnel must frequently switch between these systems. This approach increases workload, and can result in inconsistent data and fragmented processes. As a result, services lack a seamless O&M workflow and cannot achieve unified resource control. How can the divide between cloud and on‑premises environments be removed so that both cloud resources and on‑premises devices can be centrally managed through a single O&M platform? COC empowers you to effortlessly tackle this challenge by offering all-scenario resource management capabilities that seamlessly integrate both cloud and on-premises environments. When you manage on-premises physical machines, VMs, and middleware on Huawei Cloud, for example, resource statistics collection and unified resource O&M, the robust IDC resource management feature ensures streamlined operations. With this feature, COC breaks down the management barriers between cloud and on-premises environments, enabling unified and standardized O&M across all resources. This helps enterprises boost O&M efficiency while reducing management costs.
Constraints
To use the IDC resource management capability, upgrade the version first. For details about the package, see Billing Items.
Importing IDC Resources
- Log in to COC.
- In the navigation pane, choose Resources > Application and Resource Management.
- Click Multi-cloud Configurations in the upper right corner.
- On the Multi-cloud Configurations page, click On-premises IDCs.
- Select the desired import type and region.
You can set Import Type to Physical machine, Virtual machine, or Middleware device.
- Click Download Template and enter related information in the template.

IDs of virtual machines that the middleware is associated with.
(Optional) Use commas (,) to separate multiple values. A maximum of 50 values are supported.
Description
Description of the middleware.
(Optional) The value can contain a maximum of 256 characters.
- Click Upload File to add the completed excel file.
Wait until the table is imported. You can view the imported resources on the resource management page.

Modifying IDC Resources
- Log in to COC.
- In the navigation pane, choose Resources > Application and Resource Management.
- In the cloud vendor list on the left, click On-premises IDCs to view the IDC resources.
- Select the resource type to be modified.
Physical machine is selected by default.
- Locate the resource you want to modify and click Modify in the Operation column. Figure 3 Modifying IDC Resources
- Modify the IDC resource information based on service requirements.

Deleting IDC Resources
Deleting IDC resources only deletes the management information from COC. IDC resources are not directly deleted.
- Log in to COC.
- In the navigation pane, choose Resources > Application and Resource Management.
- In the cloud vendor list on the left, click On-premises IDCs to view the IDC resources.
- Select the resource type to be deleted.
Physical machine is selected by default.
- Locate the resource you want to delete and click Delete in the Operation column.
- Click OK. The IDC resource is deleted.
After the resource is deleted, it will no longer be displayed in the resource list, and you cannot perform unified O&M operations on it in COC.
