Billing Termination

Yearly/Monthly Resources

When you purchase a yearly/monthly resource, such as a yearly/monthly ECS or EVS disk, you make a one-time up-front payment. By default, the billing automatically stops when the purchased subscription expires.

  • You can unsubscribe from a yearly/monthly resource before the subscription expires. The platform may refund you, depending on factors such as the remaining duration and whether coupons were used for the purchase. For details about unsubscription rules, see Unsubscriptions.
  • If you have enabled auto-renewal but no longer wish to automatically renew the subscription, disable it before the auto-renewal date (7 days before the expiration date by default) to avoid unexpected expenses.

Pay-per-Use Resources

If pay-per-use resources, such as pay-per-use ECSs or EVS disks, are no longer needed, delete them in a timely manner to avoid further expenses.

Clearing Stored Data

CSS snapshots and log data are stored in OBS buckets. When unsubscribing from or deleting a cluster, delete these data from OBS to release storage space and thus avoid further expenses.

Searching for Resources from Bills and Stopping Billing

To ensure that all billable resources can be found and deleted, obtain their names from the bills, find the specific resources by these names, and then delete them one by one. The steps are as follows:

  1. Choose Billing > Expenditure Details in Billing Center.
  2. Locate the resource you want to stop billing, and copy the resource name, as shown in the figure below.

Figure 1 Copying the resource name

  3. Log in to the CSS management console.
  4. In the navigation pane on the left, expand Clusters. Select a cluster type based on the target cluster. The cluster list is displayed.
  5. Select Name as the filter, and enter the resource name copied earlier in the search box to find the resource.
  6. Delete the resource by referring to How Do I Unsubscribe from a CSS Cluster?.

Even after a pay-per-use resource is deleted, billing information may still appear in your account. This is because the system typically deducts fees from the previous billing cycle within one hour of usage. For example, if you delete a cluster that is charged hourly at 08:30, the expense for the hour from 08:00 to 09:00 are usually not billed until around 10:00.
