Bring Your Own License (BYOL)

What Is BYOL?

Bring Your Own License (BYOL) allows you to use your own OS licenses.

How Can I Use BYOL?

If you have already had a license, you can use BYOL and do not need to apply for a new license.

The OSs supporting BYOL are as follows:

  • Windows

Scenarios

The system does not support dynamic license type changing. BYOL can be used in the following scenarios:
  • Creating a cloud desktop

    After a cloud desktop is created, the license type of the cloud desktop cannot be dynamically changed. To change the license type, reinstall or switch the OS of the cloud desktop.

  • Reinstalling the OS of a cloud desktop

    When reinstalling the OS, you can select the license type of the cloud desktop.

  • Switching the OS of a cloud desktop

    When switching the OS, you can select the license type of the cloud desktop.

Windows desktop license description

Workspace supports private images. Tenants can upload custom private desktop images, which are visible only to themselves. Tenants need to provide and activate the private image licenses. Workspace does not provide or activate private image licenses for tenants.
