Mitigating Resource Risks Using OA

The resource risk viewing function on the COC overview page is backed by the technical capabilities of Optimization Advisor (OA) to build a risk identification and optimization guidance system covering the entire lifecycle of cloud resources. This function uses preset multi-dimensional automatic check items to scan cloud resource configurations in real time, accurately locate potential risks, and output optimization suggestions, helping you reduce O&M costs and improve resource stability and security.

Mitigating Resource Risks Using OA

  1. Log in to COC.
  2. On the COC overview page, access the Optimization Advisor module to view risk items.

  3. Click Viewing Risk Item on the right to view the list of top 10 risk items.

    To view all the risk items, click Go to Optimization Consultant OA to go to the OA page.

  4. To perform periodic check, perform the following operations:

    1. Enable Automatic Check in the upper right corner.
    2. In the displayed dialog box, set the execution frequency and execution time.

      For example, if you set the start time to 01:00 on Sunday, the system starts an automatic check task at 01:00 every Sunday.

    3. (Optional) Select a notification topic to send the risk report to your Email address through Simple Message Notification (SMN).
      • Only the topic subscription mode is supported, and the subscription protocol applies only to the email notification method. The notification topic can be selected only when the subscription has been confirmed.
      • Notifications are sent through SMN and may incur fees, which are settled by SMN. For details, see Billing.

  5. Click To process in the row of a risk item. The risk item details are displayed. Handle the affected resources based on the optimization recommendations.

    By default, all check items are selected during a risk check. The risk thresholds of check items such as resource usage are preset based on experience. You can click Custom Rules to customize check rules as required.

  6. After rectifying risky resources, re-check your resources using a single check item to verify the rectification. Click Recheck to refresh the check result.
