Desktop Usage Records

Scenarios

You can view desktop usage records to keep yourself informed of the running statuses of cloud desktops. This facilitates troubleshooting and system maintenance.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the console.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Monitoring and Analysis > Desktop Usage Records.

    The Desktop Usage Records page is displayed.

  3. On the Desktop Usage Records page, you can check information such as Desktop Name, Usage Duration, Idle For, Enterprise Project, and Operation.
  4. Click View Connection Record in the Operation column of the desktop usage record list.

    The User Connection Records page is displayed.

  5. View the connection records in the last 7 days, last 30 days, or a custom time range. In the search box above the desktop list, select search criteria to view desktop details. Search criteria include the connected user, desktop name, terminal IP address, terminal OS type, desktop IP address, client egress IP address, connection start time, connection end time, average delay (ms), session monitoring, connection details, terminal MAC address, terminal name, AccessClient version, AccessAgent version, connection establishment time, reconnection (Yes/No), and enterprise project.

    Under the Desktop Usage Records tab, click Export to export desktop usage records.

Setting notifications

  1. Click Set Notification next to Desktop Usage Records. The authorization description is displayed upon the first setting.

    Workspace requests for the permission to access the following cloud service resources:

    • SMN permissions

      To send notifications, Workspace needs the permission to access SMN.

    After the permission granting is approved, an agency named workspace_admin_trust will be created on IAM. Do not delete or modify workspace_admin_trust when performing a scheduled task or using a desktop pool.

  2. Set notifications.

    • Send Notification: indicates that the function is enabled.
    • Send In (Days): Notifications will be sent if the desktop remains inactive for x consecutive days.
    • Notification Frequency (Days): Notifications will be sent at around 06:00 once every x days.
    • Recipient: Select one from the drop-down list.

      You can select a topic. If no topic is available, click Create Topic and complete the configuration as follows:

      1. Create a topic by referring to Creating a Topic .
      2. Add a notification method by referring to Adding a Subscription .
      3. Confirm the subscription status by referring to Requesting Subscription Confirmation.

  3. Click OK.
