Restarting an Application

Scenarios

You may need to restart AI applications for maintenance purposes.

Prerequisites

  • Sign up for a Huawei Cloud account.
  • If you need fine-grained management of resources on Huawei Cloud, use Identity and Access Management (IAM) to create IAM users and user groups, and grant them specific permissions so that the IAM users can obtain required permissions. For details, see Using IAM Roles or Policies to Grant Access to RDS.
  • You must use a login account assigned the rds:aiApplication:restart and rds:aiApplication:list actions.

Constraints

  • Only running AI applications can be restarted. During the restart, the hosted instance must be running properly. Otherwise, the restart may fail.
  • If the application is in the Abnormal state, the restart may fail.
  • An application in Stopped state cannot be restarted. You need to start the application first.
  • Restarting an application will also restart its component services. Restarting an application will cause a temporary interruption. During this period, the application status will be displayed as Rebooting.
  • During the application restart, its features are unavailable. Restarting an application clears memory caches. Perform restarts during off-peak hours to avoid affecting peak-time workloads.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the RDS console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
  3. In the navigation pane, choose AI App Dev Platform.
  4. On the AI App Dev Platform page, locate the target AI application and choose More > Restart in the Operation column.
  5. In the displayed dialog box, enter YES and click OK to restart the AI application.

  6. Refresh the AI application list later and check the restart result. If the application status is Normal, the AI application is restarted.
