OBS Monitoring Metrics
Functions
This section defines the namespace, list, and dimensions of monitoring metrics reported by OBS to Cloud Eye. You can use the Cloud Eye console or API to search for monitoring metrics and alarms generated by OBS.
Cloud Eye can monitor dimensions nested to a maximum depth of four levels (levels 0 to 3). 3 is the deepest level. For example, if the monitored dimension of a metric is bucket_name,api_name, bucket_name indicates level 0 and api_name indicates level 1.
Namespace
SYS.OBS
Background Information
Before using monitoring, you may need to know the following terms.
| Term | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| P50 E2E latency | P50 latency is the median latency, which means that 50% of all requests finish below this threshold, while the remaining 50% exceed it. | P50 latency is 100 ms, meaning 50% of all requests finish within 100 ms, while the remaining 50% take longer. |
| P90 E2E latency | P90 latency means that 90% of all requests finish below this threshold, while the remaining 10% exceed it. | P90 latency is 200 ms, meaning 90% of all requests finish within 200 ms, while the remaining 10% take longer. |
| P95 E2E latency | P95 latency means that 95% of all requests finish below this threshold, while the remaining 5% exceed it. | P95 latency is 300 ms, meaning 95% of all requests finish within 300 ms, while the remaining 5% take longer. |
| P99 E2E latency | P99 latency means that 99% of all requests finish below this threshold, while the remaining 1% exceed it. | P99 latency is 500 ms, meaning 99% of all requests finish within 500 ms, while the remaining 1% take longer. |

If a metric has multiple monitoring dimensions, you need to specify each dimension when you use an API to query this metric.
For example, the request_code_count metric represents the number of requests with status code 400 for the bucket test-bucket. This metric has the dimensions of bucket_name,http_code, where bucket_name indicates level 0 and http_code indicates level 1.
- To individually query this metric via API, specify the http_code dimension as follows:
dim.0=bucket_name,test-bucket&dim.1=http_code,400
test-bucket and 400 are the values of dimensions bucket_name and http_code, respectively. For details about how to obtain the values, see Dimensions.
- To query this metric via API in a batch operation, specify the http_code dimension as follows:
"dimensions": [ { "name": "bucket_name", "value": "test-bucket" }, { "name": "http_code", "value": "400" } ]test-bucket and 400 are the values of dimensions bucket_name and http_code, respectively. For details about how to obtain the values, see Dimensions.
Dimensions
| Key | Value |
|---|---|
| tenant_id | User dimension. The value is an account ID. To obtain the ID, see Obtaining Account, IAM User, Project, User Group, Region, and Agency Information. |
| bucket_name | Bucket dimension. The value is the bucket name. For details about the value, see Listing Buckets. |
| bucket_name,api_name | API dimension. For details about the value, see Table 7. |
| bucket_name,domain_name | Domain name dimension. The value is the domain name of the bucket to be accessed. For details about the value, see Viewing Bucket Information. |
| HTTP return code dimension. For details about the values, see Table 8. |
