Changing a Yearly/Monthly Instance to Pay-per-Use

You can change a yearly/monthly GeminiDB HBase instance to pay-per-use to reclaim a portion of your subscription costs while adapting to your usage needs.

You can change the billing mode from yearly/monthly to pay-per-use in either of the following ways:

  • Immediate change: The remaining fee for the current billing cycle is refunded. Once the refund is processed, the billing mode is immediately changed to pay-per-use and auto-renewal is disabled.
  • Upon expiration: When the yearly/monthly subscription ends, the billing mode is automatically changed to pay-per-use and auto-renewal is disabled.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the GeminiDB console.
  2. On the Instances page, locate the target instance and choose More > Change to Pay-per-Use in the Operation column.

The billing mode of multiple pay-per-use instances can be changed in batches. Perform the following steps:

    1. Select the instances whose billing mode you want to change.
    2. Click More > Change to Pay-per-Use in the Operation column

  3. In the displayed dialog box, select Apply when the subscription expires or Apply immediately for When to Apply the Change, enter YES, and click OK.
  4. On the displayed page, confirm the billing information and submit the request.
  5. View the result on the Instances page.

In the upper right corner of the instance list, click to refresh the list. After the change is complete, the instance status changes to Available and the billing mode changes to Pay-per-use.
