Managing Idle EIPs

Scenarios

Idle EIPs are those that are not in use. Identifying idle EIPs helps you better manage costs. This section describes how to manage idle EIPs.

You can view EIPs that are not bound to any cloud resource in the idle EIP list. You can also release or bind idle EIPs based on service requirements.

Viewing Idle EIPs

  1. Go to the EIP list page.
  2. Click Idle EIPs above the EIP list to go to the idle EIP list.
  3. In the idle EIP list, view the idle EIPs.

Managing Idle EIPs

You can perform the following operations on idle EIPs as required.

Operation

Description

Releasing or unsubscribing from an idle EIP

If an idle EIP is no longer required, you can release or unsubscribe from it.

  • Releasing an idle EIP billed on a pay-per-use basis
    1. In the idle EIP list, locate the target idle EIP and click Release in the Operation column.
    2. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.
  • Unsubscribing from an idle EIP billed on a yearly/monthly basis
    1. In the idle EIP list, locate the target idle EIP and click Unsubscribe in the Operation column.

      The page for unsubscribing from resources is displayed.

    2. Confirm the resource and refund information and click Confirm. A confirmation dialog box is displayed.
    3. Confirm the information and click OK.

Binding an idle EIP to a cloud resource

  1. In the idle EIP list, locate the target idle EIP and click Bind in the Operation column.
  2. In the displayed dialog box, click OK.
