Expanding CBH Instance Capacity
If the specifications of your CBH instance cannot meet your requirements, you can upgrade the specifications of the instance. For example, you can purchase the standard or professional edition with higher specifications to expand the system data disk capacity, maximum number of concurrent requests, maximum number of assets, CPU, and memory. The default size of a CBH system disk is 100 GB. Capacity expansion does not affect the system disk specifications and system software version.
Precautions for Upgrade
- Before the expansion
To prevent data loss in case of an expansion failure, back up data in the mapped CBH system before the upgrade. For details, see How Do I Back Up CBH System Data?
Ensure that the current version of the CBH system is 3.2.16.0 or later if you want to upgrade the instance from standard to professional. Otherwise, the enhanced functions remain unavailable after the capacity expansion. If the CBH system version is earlier than 3.2.16.0, upgrade the system version first. For details about how to view the CBH system version, see About System.
- During the expansion
It takes about 30 minutes for capacity expansion. During this period, the CBH system is unavailable, but services running on the managed hosts are not affected. To avoid data loss, you are not advised to log in to the CBH instance for any operations during the expansion.
- After the expansion
Only data disks are expanded. Thus, system disks are not affected. After the capacity is expanded, the system expands the CPU, memory, and bandwidth for you, which does not affect the use of the original EIP.

Constraints
- CBH provides the standard and professional editions. Each edition has six asset specifications. For details, see CBH Editions.
- You can change the edition you are using to a one with higher specifications. Changing instance specifications from a higher one to lower one is not supported.
Prerequisites
- You have obtained credentials for logging in to the management console.
- The CBH system data has been backed up.
Before you expand capacity, back up the CBH system data in the event of expansion failures. For details, see Which Types of System Data Can Be Backed Up in the CBH System?
- The CBH system has been updated to the latest version.
If you want to expand system capacity by upgrading your CBH edition to a professional one, ensure that your CBH system version is 3.2.16.0 or later. For details about how to query the current version of the CBH system, see Device System in About the System.
- A valid EIP has been bound to the CBH instance.
Procedure
- Log in to the management console.
- Go to the page for viewing CBH instance information by following the steps in Figure 1.
- Locate the row containing the instance you want to expand. In the Operation column, choose More > Expand Capacity.
- On the Expand Capacity page, set Edition and click Next.
Figure 2 Selecting an edition
- On the Details page, confirm the order details and click Submit.
When receiving a network restriction notification, click Enable to eliminate the network restrictions so that capacity expansion can be performed.
You can view the rules in the security group and firewall ACL and ensure that:- Access to port 9443 is allowed in the outbound direction of the security group to which your CBH instance belongs.
- The subnet where the instance locates is not associated with the firewall ACL, or the ACL rule of the associated firewall allows the instance to access port 9443 in the outbound direction.

- Complete the payment.
It takes about 30 minutes for the capacity expansion to complete. During the expansion, the status of the CBH instance changes from Upgrading to Restarting.
When the CBH instance status changes to Running, the CBH system is available.
