You need to assign an EIP first before you can use it.

Tags help you quickly identify, organize, and search for your EIPs.
NOTE:
If your organization has configured tag policies for EIPs, you need to add tags to EIPs based on the policies. If a tag does not comply with the tag policies, EIP assignment may fail. Contact the administrator to learn more about tag policies. |

Basic monitoring is enabled by default. You can use the management console or APIs provided by Cloud Eye to query the metrics and alarms generated for the EIP and bandwidth. |
