Overview

The Production Readiness Review (PRR) baseline assesses production readiness across eight key dimensions: SLI/SLO, redundancy, disaster recovery, overload control, fault management, changeability, operability, and production safety. It establishes baseline requirements for service availability and operational capabilities, serving as the core criterion for evaluating whether a service meets the standards for production, deployment, and release.

Benefits

PRR is a quality governance process spanning the entire product lifecycle. Through a standardized review mechanism, it ensures that activities in each phase—project initiation, product design, and release—adhere to predefined quality standards and requirements. This process drives the early establishment of service capabilities during the front-end development stages and facilitates the proper planning, design, and implementation of relevant requirements, thereby ensuring production readiness from the outset.

PRR Process

Core functions: You can view PRR lists, initiate a PRR, and manage PRR templates.

  • Initiating a PRR: On the page for initiating a PRR, set basic information such as the review name, description, application, and application owner, select an appropriate PRR template along with relevant check items.
  • Managing the review process: During the review process, you can upload self-check materials, and upon completion, you can record the review minutes.
  • Closing an issue: For check items identified as needing improvement during the review, you can directly create improvement tasks to drive issue resolution.

What Is a PRR Template?

PRR templates are used for PRR and contain check items of product initiation, design, and release. You can specify a PRR template on the PRR template management page. In addition, you can initiate a PRR based on the existing template to start the review process. PRR template management is a part of the PRR management function.

What Is the PRR List?

The PRR management list displays basic information about all PRRs, including the review name, review progress, application, status, number of issue tickets, number of war rooms, and expected completion time. In addition, you can click the PRR name in the list to go to the review details page and check review progress and improvement items. The PRR list is a part of the PRR management function. It enables you to effectively trace and manage the entire PRR process.
