Operation Scenario

In the development of a movie recommendation system, you need to identify the top 10 rated movies and top 10 most-watched movies from the raw rating data. However, you face challenges such as a large data volume, a complex processing procedure, and difficult collaboration between components. This practice describes how to use the Cloud Data Migration (CDM) and DataArts Factory components of DataArts Studio along with the Data Warehouse Service (DWS) to analyze the raw movie rating data and find out the 10 movies with the highest scores and the 10 most active movies. You will learn the data migration function of DataArts Migration, and the script development, job development, and job scheduling functions of DataArts Factory, as well as basic SQL syntax of DWS.

This practice involves the DataArts Migration, Management Center, and DataArts Factory modules of DataArts Studio. All DataArts Studio versions can meet requirements.

Step 1: Prepare Data

Purchase a DataArts Studio instance, create a workspace, and prepare the data sources, data lake, and authentication data.

Step 2: Integrate Data

Create a data migration job. For details, see Migrating Data from OBS to DWS.

Step 3: Develop Data
Create DWS SQL scripts, develop an analysis job, and configure scheduling.

Step 4: Unsubscribe from Services

After completing the practice, unsubscribe from related services and delete resources to prevent extra expenditures.
