Binding an EIP
Scenarios
You can assign an EIP and bind it to an ECS so that the ECS can access the public network.
Billing
- If an EIP is bound to an ECS, there may be bandwidth costs. For details, see EIP Billing Modes.
- EIPs and ECSs are different resources. ECSs can have different billing modes from the EIPs to be bound.
Constraints
- An EIP can only be bound to an ECS from its same region.
- An EIP can only be bound to an ECS from its same account.
- An EIP cannot be bound to a frozen ECS.
Preparations
A new EIP has been purchased. For details, see Assigning an EIP.
Procedure
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner and select a region and project.
- Click
. Under Compute, click Elastic Cloud Server.
- In the ECS list, select the ECS that an EIP is to be bound and choose More > Manage Network > Bind EIP in the Operation column.
- In the displayed dialog box, select an EIP
If no EIP is available in the current region, the EIP list is empty. In such a case, purchase an EIP and then bind it.

After the EIP is bound, view it in the ECS list on the Elastic Cloud Server page.
