Database Role Management

This section describes how to create roles on the DAS console and manage these roles.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the DAS console.
  2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and project.
  3. Click in the upper left corner, and under Databases, click Data Admin Service.
  4. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Development Tool.

    You can also click Go to Development Tool on the overview page.

  5. Locate the DB instance that you want to log in to and click Log In in the Operation column.
  6. On the top menu bar, choose Account Management > Database Role Management.
  7. On the displayed page, select a database and click Create Role.

  8. On the displayed page, set parameters on the Basic Settings, Owned Schemas, Role Member, and Securables tab pages.

    Parameter

    Description

    Role Name

    Name of the database role.

    Owner

    Owner of the role.

    Owned Schemas

    All schemas owned by the database role.

    Role Member

    Database users that own the role. If a user has a role, it has all permissions of the role.

    Securables

    The role's specific permissions on database objects.

  9. After configuring required parameters, click Save. In the preview dialog box, click OK.
  10. In the role management list, view information of database roles.

    You can also edit, rename, and delete created database roles.
