Storage Types

Database systems are one of the most important IT systems and have high requirements on storage I/O performance. GaussDB supports ultra-high I/O and extreme SSD storage types.
  • Ultra-high I/O: ultra-high performance cloud disks excellent for enterprise mission-critical services as well as workloads demanding high throughput and low latency. For details, see the descriptions of "Ultra-high I/O" in Disk Types and Performance in Elastic Volume Service Service Overview.
  • Extreme SSD: lightning-fast disks ideal for workloads demanding ultra-high bandwidth and ultra-low latency. For details, see the descriptions of "Extreme SSD" in Disk Types and Performance in Elastic Volume Service Service Overview.

Extreme SSD storage is only available for whitelisted users. To apply for the permissions needed, submit a service ticket.

Baseline Bandwidth Per GaussDB Instance Node

The maximum storage throughput per node varies depending on the specifications of each GaussDB instance. The following tables provide detailed values for different specification types.
