Billing Option Changes

There are yearly/monthly and pay-per-use billing modes. A pay-per-use EIP can be billed by bandwidth, by traffic, or it can be added to a shared bandwidth. You can switch between different billing options.

Billing Option Changes

From Yearly/Monthly to Pay-per-Use

  • A yearly/monthly EIP can be changed to a pay-per-use EIP billed by bandwidth immediately, or upon expiration.
    • Change upon expiration: The new billing mode applies when the yearly/monthly subscription expires.
    • Change immediately: The new billing mode applies immediately.
  • If a yearly/monthly subscription expires and enters the grace period or retention period, you cannot change the billing mode to pay-per-use.

From Pay-per-Use to Yearly/Monthly

  • You can change the billing mode of an EIP billed by bandwidth from pay-per-use to yearly/monthly. After the change is complete, the new billing mode is applied immediately.
  • An EIP billed by traffic cannot be changed from pay-per-use to yearly/monthly directly. You need to first change the pay-per-use EIP to be billed by bandwidth and then you can change the billing mode to yearly/monthly.
  • You can change the billing mode to yearly/monthly on the EIP console. After the change is successful, the new billing mode is applied immediately.

Between Billing By Bandwidth (Pay-per-Use) and By Traffic (Pay-per-Use)
  • For pay-per-use EIPs, you can switch between billing by bandwidth and billing by traffic. The new billing mode takes effect immediately after the change.
  • The maximum bandwidth of a pay-per-use EIP is 2,000 Mbit/s.

Bandwidth Size Change

Yearly/Monthly

  • If a bandwidth is increased, the increased bandwidth will be available immediately and will be billed accordingly.
  • If a bandwidth is decreased, the change will be applied for the first billing cycle after a successful renewal.
  • The renewal for decreasing a bandwidth cannot be canceled once the payment is made.
  • After a successful renewal for decreasing a bandwidth, the bandwidth cannot be modified in the current billing cycle.

Pay-per-Use

If a bandwidth is increased or decreased, the change is applied immediately.

Pay-per-Use (Shared Bandwidth)

  • If an EIP is added to a shared bandwidth, you can change the shared bandwidth size and billing mode.
  • If you want to change the billing mode of a shared bandwidth from pay-per-use to yearly/monthly, you need to remove the EIP from the shared bandwidth first and then you can change the billing mode to yearly/monthly.
