Setting Remediation Exceptions
Scenarios
You can add a non-compliant resource to the exception list, and then this resource will be skipped during remediation.
You can add exceptions in either of the following ways:
- Automatic: If a non-compliant resource is remediated more times than the threshold you specified in the remediation rule, the resource will be automatically added to the exception list. There is no limit to the number of resources that can be added in this way.
- Manual: You can add non-compliant resources to the exception list in batches at any time. You can add a maximum of 100 exception resources for a single compliance rule.
You can remove non-compliant resources from the exception list at any time.
The detailed procedures are as follows:
Manually Adding an Exception
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner of the page. Under Management & Governance, select Config.
- In the navigation pane on the left, choose Resource Conformance.
- On the Rules tab, click the name of a rule that has remediation configured to go to the details page.
- Click the Remediation tab.
- In the Resource Scope pane in the lower part of the page, select target non-compliant resources and click Add to Exceptions.
- In the displayed dialog box, click OK.

- Click the Remediation Exceptions tab to check the added resources.
Deleting a Remediation Exception
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner of the page. Under Management & Governance, select Config.
- In the navigation pane on the left, choose Resource Conformance.
- On the Rules tab, click the name of a rule that has remediation configured to go to the details page.
- Click the Remediation tab.
- Click the Remediation Exceptions tab to check the added resources.
- Select target non-compliant resources and click Delete above the list.
- In the displayed dialog box, click OK.
