System Roles

Configure the roles users hold in the system. Role permissions vary and affect access to menu functions and database data. Functions include role retrieval, role creation, role editing, and role deletion.

Managing System Roles

  1. Logging in to the Database Operations and Maintenance Management System using the secadmin Security Administrator account specified.
  2. Select User Management > System Roles from the left navigation pane to view paginated role list presented in card format. Security administrators have permissions to manage role configurations.
  3. Create new role:

    1. Click the Add Role button in the upper right corner.

    2. Enter the role name and role type for the new role, and set permissions.

    3. Click OK.

  4. Edit role:

    1. hover the mouse over the character and click the Permission button.

    2. The role information page appears, allowing the security administrator to configure and modify role information as needed.

    3. Click OK.

      Description

      Role Name

      The characters name.

      The type of role

      Current role types: System Administrator, Security Administrator, Security Auditor, Database Operator.

      Usage scenario: A newly created role should only possess partial or all permissions of one of the following four roles: System Administrator, Security Administrator, Security Auditor, or Database Operator.

      Notes

      Other notes.

      Permission

      The system menu permission settings for the role.

Relevant Operations

Search: Enter the role name or remarks in the search area to quickly filter and locate the specified role.

The newly created role should possess only partial or all permissions of one of the following four roles: System Administrator, Security Administrator, Security Auditor, or Database Operator.
