Changing a Backup Name

You can change the name of a created backup for identification purposes. Both the names of manual and automatic backups can be changed.

Prerequisites

There is at least one backup.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the CBR console.

    1. Log in to the management console.
    2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region.
    3. Click and choose Storage > Cloud Backup and Recovery. Select a backup type from the left navigation pane.

  2. Click the Backups tab and set filter criteria to view the backups.
  3. Click the name of the target backup to go to the backup details page.
  4. Click next to the backup name.

    • Duplicate backup names are allowed.
    • CBR automatically adds the autobk_ prefix for you to differentiate automatic backups from manual backups. You are advised to retain the autobk_ prefix.
    • If the name of a backup is changed and prefix deleted, you may find it difficult to distinguish automatic backups from manual backups.
    • CBR can always differentiate automatic backups from manual backups no matter you delete the prefix or not. Automatic backups expire based on the retention rule of the backup policy.

  5. Enter a name you want and click .
