Changing a Backup Name
You can change the name of a created backup for identification purposes. Both the names of manual and automatic backups can be changed.
Prerequisites
There is at least one backup.
Notes and Constraints
- Duplicate backup names are allowed.
- If the name of a backup is changed and the prefix is deleted, you may find it difficult to know whether it is an automatic backup or a manual backup.
Procedure
- Log in to the CBR console.
- Log in to the management console.
- Click
in the upper left corner and select a region.
- Click
and choose Storage > Cloud Backup and Recovery. Select the corresponding backup type from the navigation pane.
- Click the Backups tab and set filter criteria to view the backups.
- Click the name of the target backup to go to the backup details page.
- Click
next to the backup name.
Figure 1 Changing backup name- CBR automatically adds the autobk_ prefix for you to differentiate automatic backups from manual backups. You are advised to retain the autobk_ prefix.
- CBR can differentiate automatic backups from manual backups no matter you delete the prefix or not. Automatic backups expire based on the retention rule of the backup policy.
- Enter a name you want and click
. Then, you can view the new backup name in the backup list.
