Managing Servers

Scenarios

The administrator can view the version number, OS type, release time, service stop time, version status, number of desktops, and detailed configurations of each server.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the console.
  2. In the navigation pane, choose Version Upgrade Management > Version Management > Servers.
  3. On the server page, view server version information, as shown in Table 1.

    Viewing server information

    Click Attribute Type and specify attributes such as Version, OS Type, Release Date, Version Status, and Release Notes. Each record contains Version, OS Type, Release Date, EOS Time, Version Status, Desktops, and Operation.

    NOTE:

    Version status description:

    • Released: The version has been officially released and can be used in the production environment.
    • Preview: The version is for preview and verification. Functions in this version may be changed later. You are not advised to use it in the production environment.
    • Offline: The version is no longer used for upgrades. The existing instances can continue to run until EOS.
    • Discarded: The version is no longer maintained or supported. Upgrade to another version as soon as possible.

    Administrators can view the details about each version on the server page.

    Upgrading versions

    1. Click the number in the Desktops column on the right of the target version.
    2. Select the desktop to be upgraded and click Upgrade. The page for creating an upgrade task is displayed.
    3. Set the following parameters:
      • Specify whether to enable forcible execution.
        • : Enabled.
        • : Disabled.
          NOTE:

          If this function is enabled, the upgrade task will be executed at the scheduled time even if the desktop is in use.

      • Upgrade To: Latest version is selected by default. The latest version is automatically synchronized.
      • Description (Optional): Enter the description as required.
      • Execution Interval: The default value is Immediate.
      • User Notification:
        • Notify: A message is displayed on the desktop after the user logs in. Set Earlier Than Upgrade Task to a value ranging from 1 to 10,080 minutes. Enter a text message, which can contain 1 to 400 characters.
        • Do Not Notify: The system directly completes the upgrade without displaying any message.
      • To Executed At: Upgrade immediately after the task is created.
    4. Enter YES or click Auto Enter to confirm the operation.
    5. Click OK.

    Administrators can upgrade desktops based on the current version, either one by one or in batches.

    Viewing version configurations

    1. Click View Version Configurations in the Operation column.
    2. On the displayed page, view the current version number and update information.
    3. Click OK.

    Administrators can view version configurations for better decision making.

    Viewing the number of cloud desktops

    1. Click the number in the Desktops column on the right of the target version.
    2. Filter desktops by Desktop Name or Desktop ID.
      NOTE:

      Click Export to go to the export center and download and view desktop information.

    Administrator can view the number of desktops of the current version and export desktop information.
