Preparing Metadata

Preparing Metadata Locally

To prepare metadata for upload, you need to create a metadata file locally and import it into GES for subsequent analysis.

When preparing your metadata file, keep the following points in mind:

  1. The maximum number of metadata files that can be imported is 50. Once this limit is reached, no additional files can be uploaded.
  2. Ensure the metadata file is saved in XML format.

If no metadata file exists locally or in OBS, you can manually create one by referring to Creating Metadata Files.

(Optional) Importing Metadata to OBS

You can upload your prepared metadata file to an OBS bucket beforehand for later use with the GES.

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Log in to the OBS console and create an OBS bucket. If a suitable bucket already exists, ensure it is located in the same region as the GES. For how to create a bucket and upload files, see Using OBS Console.
  2. Upload the prepared file to the OBS bucket by referring to Uploading a File. The metadata file must be in XML format.
