Overview

Scheduled O&M is an important module of COC for automatic scheduling of O&M tasks. This module clearly displays scheduled task details (such as the task name, type, execution time, and status) and task execution records (including the execution time, result, and logs). You can create scheduled tasks and manage them, such as modifying, pausing, enabling, and deleting tasks.

After a scheduled task is created, the system automatically triggers operations on the task based on the preset time or period, covering multiple scenarios such as script execution and job management. Repeated O&M tasks can be completed without manual intervention, greatly improving O&M efficiency.

Scheduled O&M includes the following key elements:

  • Schedule settings: one-time execution (at a specific date and time) and periodic execution. For periodic execution, you can select a simple period (for example, a fixed time every day, every week, or every month) or use a Cron expression to set a more complex period (for example, 03:00 AM on the first and fifteenth days of each month or 08:00 PM from Monday to Friday) as required.
  • Task types: Currently, only scripts and jobs are supported.
    • If you select scripts, the associated script will be automatically executed after the task is triggered.
    • If you select jobs, the preset job process will be triggered to automatically connect multiple operations.
  • Execution objects: The target instance on which a task is executed. You can select ECSs, BMSs, FlexusL instances, and more based on your requirements.

Constraints

  • Each account can create a maximum of 200 scheduled tasks.
  • The target instance can be an ECS, FlexusL, or BMS instance.
  • For a scheduled task, only when the Status is Normal (for the task that does not need to be approved or has passed the approval) and Enabled Status is Enabled, the scripts or jobs can be automatically executed.

Benefits

  • Reduced labor costs: The system automatically completes repetitive scheduled O&M tasks. This reduces the need for manual attendance and operations, frees O&M personnel from repetitive tasks, and enables them to focus on more creative and complex tasks.
  • Timely O&M: For O&M tasks (such as data backup and system inspection) that need to be executed at a specified time (for example, during off-peak hours in the early morning), scheduled O&M ensures that the tasks are executed on time, avoiding unnecessary risks.
  • Standardized O&M: Standardized scheduled task configurations ensure that similar O&M operations are performed at fixed times according to unified rules. This improves O&M standardization and consistency. For example, the server log cleanup script runs automatically at 02:00 AM daily, and the database backup job is executed every Sunday night. These scheduled tasks make O&M operations more regular and easier to track.
