Creating an EIP at an Edge Site

This section describes how to create an EIP on the CloudPond management console.

  1. Select a billing mode.

Currently, only the pay-per-use billing mode is supported.

  2. Select a region.

The default region for CloudPond is the region where the edge site is located. The region cannot be changed.

  3. Set EIP Type.

Edge is selected by default. Other values are not supported.

The edge selects a network edge site closer to the required location, lowering network latency.

  4. Edge

By default, Shared Bandwidth is selected.

The bandwidth can be allocated to multiple EIPs and can be shared among the EIPs. This is suitable for scenarios with staggered traffic.

  5. Bandwidth Name

Select an available shared bandwidth from the drop-down list. If no shared bandwidth is available, click Buy Shared Bandwidth to apply for one. For details, see Assigning a Shared Bandwidth.

  6. DDoS Protection

    Cloud Native Anti-DDoS Basic

Cloud Native Anti-DDoS Basic provides up to 5 Gbit/s of DDoS mitigation capacity. If the attack to an EIP exceeds 5 Gbit/s, the EIP will be blocked.

  7. Set EIP Name.
  8. (Optional) Click Advanced Settings and set the following parameters:

    Tag

Identifier of an EIP. You can classify and search for EIPs by tag.

  9. Monitoring

Enables basic monitoring for EIPs. This parameter is enabled by default. You can use the management console or APIs provided by Cloud Eye to query the metrics and alarms generated for the EIP and bandwidth.

  10. Quantity

If the number of EIPs you need exceeds the upper limit, click Increase quota to obtain a higher quota. You can purchase the EIPs you need after the request is approved.

  11. Click Next. Confirm the EIP information and click Submit.
