Buying an Instance

To create a dual-active DR relationship, you need to create two GeminiDB Redis instances first. The two instances can be in the same region or different regions but must be in different VPCs. For details about how to create a VPC, see Network Configurations.

Procedure

Log in to the management console.
In the service list, choose Databases > GeminiDB Redis API.
On the Instances page, click Buy DB Instance.
On the displayed page, configure required parameters and click Next.
To buy two instances in the same region, configure parameters as follows:
- Region: Select the same region as the one used in Network Configurations for Primary and Standby Instances in the Same Region, for example, CN East-Shanghai1.
- VPC: Select the VPCs created in Network Configurations for Primary and Standby Instances in the Same Region for your two instances, respectively, for example, vpc-10-0-master or vpc-10-1-slave.
- Configure other parameters by referring to Buying a Cluster Instance.
To buy two instances in different regions, configure parameters as follows:
- Region: Select the regions as those used in Network Configurations for Primary and Standby Instances in Different Regions, for example, CN North-Beijing4 and CN East-Shanghai1.
- VPC: Select the VPCs created in Network Configurations for Primary and Standby Instances in Different Regions for your two instances, respectively, for example, vpc-10-0 or vpc-10-1.
- Configure other parameters by referring to Buying a Cluster Instance.
After the instance is created, check whether the instance status changes to Available.
