Billing
If you use DSC through the console, you will be billed on a yearly/monthly basis, which is prepaid. If you use DSC by APIs, including data masking and watermark APIs, you pay for what you used.

APIs (data masking and watermarking) |
APIs are included only in the professional edition. By default, the professional edition offers one million API calls each month. Note that the unused API calls for the previous month will become invalid. For pricing about extra API calls, see Product Pricing Details. |
Billing Mode
- Yearly/Monthly: applies to use of DSC through console. The longer you subscribe, the more you save. In this billing mode, you will be billed for DSC by the required duration you selected.
- Pay-per-use: applies to use of DSC by APIs. This billing mode allows you to make subscriptions or unsubscription at any time.

Configuration Changes
- After purchasing DSC, you can upgrade it from a lower edition to a higher one or purchase additional database or OBS expansion packages to meet your business needs.
- Unsubscription: If you no longer need DSC that is billed yearly/monthly, unsubscribe from it in the Billing Center.
Renewal
If you do not renew the yearly/monthly-billed DSC service upon its expiration, a retention period is available for you.
For details about the retention period, see Retention Period.
To avoid unnecessary loss caused by security issues, renew your subscription before the retention period expires. If you do not renew the subscription, you cannot use DSC.
You can renew your resources on the management console. For details, see Manually Renewing a Resource.
Expiration and Overdue Payment
- Expiration
If you do not renew your subscription upon the expiration, a retention period is available for you. For details, see Retention Period.
- Overdue Payment
If your account is in arrears, you can check the details in the Billing Center. To prevent related resources from being stopped or released, top up your account in time. For details, see Making Repayments.
