95th Percentile Bandwidth Billing (Standard)

Prerequisites

To use the standard 95th percentile bandwidth billing, the following requirements must be met:

• Your account level is no less than V4.
• The minimum bandwidth is 300 Mbit/s, and the maximum bandwidth is 5,000 Mbit/s.

Billed Usage Period

In standard 95th percentile bandwidth billing, a resource is billed for the purchased duration and the bill is settled by month.

Billing

Billing formula: Monthly peak bandwidth x Monthly peak bandwidth price x Shared bandwidth in-use days/Calendar days of a month.

Billing cycle: Bills are generated for each calendar month.

Billing mode: The standard 95th percentile bandwidth billing is a pay-per-use billing mode and does not require prepayment. The expenditure is settled at the end of each calendar month.

Monthly peak bandwidth price: The price is preset and does not vary by the number of days in a calendar month.

Shared bandwidth in-use days: Calculated based on the actual duration when the shared bandwidth is used.

Shared bandwidth in-use days = Number of collected bandwidths in a month/288 Bandwidths are recorded every five minutes, so a total of 288 (12 x 24) samples are collected in a day.

Monthly peak bandwidth: Calculated based on the standard 95 percentile billing mode in which some peak bandwidths are discarded.

Monthly peak bandwidth calculation method

• Billable monthly peak bandwidth
  • Inbound and outbound bandwidths are measured every five minutes.
  • Either the inbound or outbound bandwidth is recorded, whichever is higher.
  • At the end of each usage period, these bandwidths are sorted from highest to lowest. Top 5% of these bandwidths are ignored, and the highest bandwidth of the remaining 95% is the monthly peak bandwidth that gets actually billed.
  Monthly baseline bandwidth

  • Daily baseline bandwidth = Baseline percentage x Shared bandwidth.

    A shared bandwidth in standard 95 percentile billing can be changed, and the change takes effect immediately. After the shared bandwidth is changed, its baseline bandwidth changes accordingly. The daily baseline bandwidth is calculated based on the maximum baseline bandwidth set for a day.

    For example, if the bandwidth is adjusted from 300 Mbit/s to 500 Mbit/s and then to 300 Mbit/s during a day, the daily baseline bandwidth is calculated as follows: 500 Mbit/s x Baseline percentage.

  • Monthly baseline bandwidth: You may adjust the bandwidth at any time to meet your service requirements, so the baseline bandwidth may vary every day.

    The monthly baseline bandwidth is calculated using the following formula (only the integer is retained in the calculated result): Monthly baseline bandwidth = (Baseline bandwidth 1 x Number of days using baseline bandwidth 1 + Baseline bandwidth 2 x Number of days using baseline bandwidth 2 + ... + Baseline bandwidth n x Number of days using baseline bandwidth n)/Number of days using baseline bandwidths in a month.

• Monthly peak bandwidth

  Either the monthly baseline bandwidth or billable monthly peak bandwidth is taken as the monthly peak bandwidth, whichever is higher.

  • If the monthly baseline bandwidth is higher than the billable monthly peak bandwidth, the monthly baseline bandwidth is used as the monthly peak bandwidth.
  • If the monthly baseline bandwidth is lower than the billable monthly peak bandwidth, the billable monthly peak bandwidth is used as the monthly peak bandwidth.
  

  If the baseline percentage is 0 and the monthly baseline bandwidth is 0, the billable monthly peak bandwidth is used as the monthly peak bandwidth.
