Why Is the Duration of a Monthly Product Less Than or More Than One Month After I Renew It?
- If a monthly resource in the grace period or retention period is renewed, the duration spent in the grace and retention periods will be deducted from the renewal period. Therefore, the renewal duration may be less than one month. For details about the grace period and retention period, see Resource Suspension and Release.
Example:
You purchased a monthly EVS disk on March 31, 2024, and the resource would expire on April 30, 2024. The grace period and retention period of yearly/monthly resources on Huawei Cloud (International) are both 15 days.
On May 18, 2024, the resource was in the grace period and renewed for one month. There are only 13 days remaining because the resource would expire on May 31, 2024.
- If you set the unified renewal date for the monthly resources, you need to supplement the duration from the expiration date of the current billing period to the renewal date. Therefore, the renewal duration may be more than one month. For details, see Setting a Renewal Date.
Example:
You purchased a monthly EVS disk on March 25, 2024, and the resource would expire on April 25, 2024. You have renewed the subscription for one month and set the renewal date to the first day of each month.
Actual renewal duration = Duration to be supplemented in the month when the subscription expires + Renewal duration + Duration to be supplemented in the month when the subscription is renewed to the unified renewal date = 6 days (from March 26, 2024 to March 31, 2024) + 1 month + 1 day (May 1, 2024) = 1 month + 7 days
