[Discontinuation Notice] Some Node Classes of Huawei Cloud Distributed Database Middleware (DDM) Instances Will Be Going Offline
Notice Content
On May 30, 2023, 00:00:00 GMT+08:00, Huawei Cloud will discontinue some node classes of Distributed Database Middleware (DDM) instances.
Scope
Huawei Cloud regions
Impacts
Huawei Cloud will not provide technical support for the node classes in Table 1 any longer, including new functions, bug fixing, and upgrades. Huawei Cloud will provide new classes with similar features and performance. For details, see Table 2. To avoid impacting your workloads, please choose any of the new node classes and change the node class of your instance. For prices, see DDM pricing details.
If you have any questions, please submit a service ticket or call us at +86-4000-955-988 or +86-950-808.

FAQs
- Why Is Huawei Cloud Discontinuing Some Node Classes of DDM Instances?
The node classes to be discontinued are seldom used, and DDM will be providing new node classes that can give you higher performance and stability than the ones being discontinued.
- Will Other Services Be Affected If Some Node Classes Are Taken Offline?
- What Are the Impacts If I Continue to Use DDM Instances with the Discontinued Node Classes?
After these node classes are discontinued, Huawei Cloud cannot provide patch updates and technical support for newly detected security risks. As a result, there may be security risks in your workloads.
- What Can I Do If I Still Want to Use a DDM Instance of an Offline Node Class?
- How Can I Change Node Class of a DDM Instance from One Taken Offline to an Alternative?
For details, see Changing node class.
- What Are the Impacts If I Change Node Class of a DDM Instance from One Taken Offline to an Alternative?
During the change, your workloads may be briefly interrupted. So, change the node class during off-peak hours.
Changing the node class of your DDM instance only changes storage resources. It does not affect your workloads.
- Does the Price Remain Unchanged After I Change Node Class from an Offline One to an Alternative One?
The price changes. For details, see DDM pricing details.
If you have any questions about pricing changes, create a service ticket or contact customer service at +86-4000-955-988 or +86-950-808.
