Scaling Out a Cluster (Discarded)

Function

This API is used to scale in the number of data nodes in Elasticsearch and OpenSearch clusters. You are advised to use Adding Instances and Expanding Instance Storage Capacity.

Calling Method

For details, see Calling APIs.

Authorization Information

Each account has all the permissions required to call all APIs, but IAM users must be assigned the required permissions.

  • If you are using role/policy-based authorization, see Permissions Policies and Supported Actions for details on the required permissions.
  • If you are using identity policy-based authorization, the following identity policy-based permissions are required.

Parameter

Mandatory

Type

Description

project_id

Yes

String

Definition

Project ID. For details about how to obtain the project ID and name, see Obtaining the Project ID and Name.

Constraints

N/A

Range

Project ID of an account. The value contains 32 characters, consisting of lowercase letters and digits.

Default Value

N/A

cluster_id

Yes

String

Definition

ID of the cluster to be scaled out. For details about how to obtain the cluster ID, see Obtaining the Cluster ID.

Constraints

N/A

Range

The value is a UUID containing 36 characters.

Default Value

N/A

Request Parameters

Table 2 Request body parameters

Parameter

Mandatory

Type

Description

grow

Yes

ExtendClusterGrowReq object

Definition:

Detailed description about the cluster scale-out request.

Constraints:

N/A

Value range:

N/A

Default value:

N/A

isAutoPay

No

Integer

Definition

Whether to enable automatic payment from your Huawei Cloud account.

Constraints

This parameter applies to yearly/monthly clusters.

Range

  • 1: Automatic payment. Discounts and coupons are automatically selected, and the amount is automatically deducted from your Huawei Cloud account. If automatic payment fails, a pending payment order is generated (the amount payable is the discounted amount), and you need to complete the payment manually. During manual payment, the automatically selected discounts and coupons can be modified.

  • 0: Manual payment. You need to manually pay the order. During payment, discounts and coupons can be selected.

Default Value

0

Table 3 ExtendClusterGrowReq

Parameter

Mandatory

Type

Description

modifySize

Yes

Integer

Definition

Number of instances to be added.

Constraints

The total number of existing instances and newly added instances in a cluster cannot exceed 32.

Range

1-32

Default Value

N/A

Response Parameters
