Overview

LTS offers prepaid yearly and monthly resource packages. They are suitable for users with consistent resource needs and wanting to reduce costs. To use this billing mode, you must purchase LTS resource packages in advance. This section describes the billing rules of LTS resource packages.

Application Scenarios

If you need resource stability over a certain period, purchase resource packages. This billing mode is suitable for the following scenarios:

  • Long-term workloads with stable resource requirements, such as official websites, online malls, and blogs
  • Long-term projects, such as scientific research projects and large-scale events
  • Workloads with predictable traffic bursts, for example, e-commerce promotions or festivals
  • Workloads with high data security requirements

Billing Items

Billing is based on the actual usage of your log read/write traffic, index traffic, and storage volume.

Table 1 Resource package billing items

Package Type

Description

Read/Write traffic package

Used to deduct fees generated by log read/write traffic.

Index traffic package

Used to deduct fees generated by log index traffic.

Standard storage package

Used to deduct fees generated by standard storage volume.

Cold storage package

Used to deduct fees generated by cold storage volume.

NOTE:

Cold storage is available only to whitelisted users. To use it, submit a service ticket. After your request is approved, enable cold storage by referring to Managing Log Streams.

Billing Cycle

The billing cycle of a resource package is determined by the duration you purchased (UTC+8). The billing cycle of a resource package starts from the effective time you set and ends at 23:59:59 on the same day when the package expires.

For example, if you buy a one-month resource package that takes effect immediately on March 8, 2025, 15:50:04, its billing cycle is from March 8, 2025, 15:50:04 to April 8, 2025, 23:59:59.

Usage Rules

Resource Package Use Sequence

If there are multiple resource packages with the same attributes, LTS uses the package that expires soonest first.

The following is an example of the resource package use sequence:

Scenario

A customer purchased two LTS read/write traffic packages in the CN North-Beijing4 region.

  • Package A (100 GB): valid from October 1, 2020 to 23:59:59 on December 1, 2020 (2 months)
  • Package B (500 GB = 100 GB x 5 packages): valid from October 10, 2020 to 23:59:59 on December 10, 2020 (2 months)

Use sequence

October 1 to October 9

Only package A was used for deduction.

Usage beyond 100 GB was billed on a pay-per-use basis.

October 10 to November 30

Both packages A and B were used for deduction.

Package A was used first. Once the 100 GB quota of package A was used up, deductions began from package B. Any usage beyond the combined 600 GB quota was billed on a pay-per-use basis.

From 23:59:59 on December 1 to December 9

Package A had expired, and only package B was used for deduction.

Usage beyond 500 GB was billed on a pay-per-use basis.

After 23:59:59 on December 10

Both packages A and B had expired. The customer was billed on a pay-per-use basis.
