Managing Tags

Scenarios

This section describes how to use tags to search for desktops, and how to add, edit, and delete tags.

Adding/Editing a Tag

  1. Log in to the Workspace console.
  2. In the navigation tree on the left, choose Desktop Management > Desktops.

    The desktop management page is displayed.

  3. Click to expand the basic desktop information.
  4. Click Tag.
  5. Click Adding or editing tags.

    The dialog box for adding or editing tags is displayed.

  6. Enter a tag key and tag value, and click Add. Table 1 describes the tag naming rules.

    You can add a maximum of 10 tags to a desktop.

    Tag key

    • This field cannot be left blank.
    • The value can contain up to 36 characters.
    • The value cannot start or end with a space and cannot contain the following characters: =*<>\,|/.
    • Each tag key must be unique on the same desktop.

    Tag value

    • The value can contain up to 43 characters.
    • The value cannot start or end with a space and cannot contain the following characters: =*<>\,|/.

  7. Click Yes.

    The tag has been added.

Searching for a Desktop by Tag

  1. Log in to the Workspace console.
  2. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Desktops Management > Desktops.

    The desktop management page is displayed.

  3. In the upper right corner of the desktop management page, click Search for an instance by tags.

    Expand the window of search by tag.

  4. Enter an existing tag key and tag value.
  5. Click Search.

    • This query only applies to existing keys and values.
    • A maximum of 10 different tags can be combined for search.
