Managing an Asset Connection

Scenarios

• Definition: An asset connection includes the domain name and authentication parameters required by each plugin node in the security orchestration process.
• Function: During security orchestration, each plugin node transfers the domain name to be connected and the authentication information, such as the username, password, and account AK/SK, to establish connections.
• Asset connections and plugins: Plugins access other cloud services or third-party services through domain names and authentication. So, domain name parameters (endpoints) and authentication parameters (username/password, account AK/SK, etc.) are defined in the login credential parameters of plugins. An asset connection configures login credential parameters for a plugin. In a workflow, each plugin node is associated with different asset connections so that the plugin can access different services.

This topic describes how to manage asset connections, including Creating an Asset Connection, Checking an Asset Connection, Editing an Asset Connection, and Deleting an Asset Connection.

Creating an Asset Connection

1. Log in to the SecMaster console.
2. Click in the upper left corner of the management console and select a region or project.
3. Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Security & Compliance > SecMaster.
4. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Workspaces > Management. In the workspace list, click the name of the target workspace.

5. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Security Orchestration > Playbooks. On the displayed page, click the Asset Connections tab.

6. On the Asset Connections tab, click Add. The Add Asset Connection panel is displayed on the right.
7. On the displayed Add Asset Connection panel, set asset connection parameters by referring to Table 1.

   Parameter	Description
   Connection Name	Enter the asset connection name. The naming rules are as follows: Only uppercase letters (A to Z), lowercase letters (a to z), digits (0 to 9), and underscores (_) are allowed. A maximum of 64 characters are allowed.
   Description	(Optional) Enter the asset description. The description can contain a maximum of 64 characters.
   Plug In	Select the plugin required for the asset connection. For details about the plugin, see Viewing Plug-in Details.
   Connection Type	Select the type of the asset connection. Cloud service agency: If a cloud service plugin is used, the cloud service agency is recommended. You do not need to manually enter authentication parameters such as the domain name, username, and password. The system automatically obtains the domain name (endpoint) of the corresponding cloud service based on the plugin name and uses the cloud service agency for authentication. AK&SK: You need to manually enter the domain name (endpoint) and provide an AK and SK for authentication. Username and password: You need to manually enter the domain name (endpoint) and provide a username and password for authentication. Others: Some plugins have other authentication parameters in addition to the preceding authentication parameters. Set these parameters based on the plugin login credential parameter guide.
   Credential	Enter the credential information, such as the endpoint, AK, and SK, based on the selected connection type.

8. Click OK. You can check the asset connection you add in the connection list.

Checking an Asset Connection

1. Log in to the SecMaster console.
2. Click in the upper left corner of the management console and select a region or project.
3. Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Security & Compliance > SecMaster.
4. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Workspaces > Management. In the workspace list, click the name of the target workspace.

5. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Security Orchestration > Playbooks. On the displayed page, click the Asset Connections tab.

6. On the Asset Connections tab, view asset connection information.

   • In the asset connection list, you can view the name, plugin, and creator of a connection.
   • If you have lots of asset connections, you can specify a filter to quickly search for a specific asset connection.
   • To view details about an asset connection, click the name of the asset connection. The asset connection details page is displayed.

Editing an Asset Connection

1. Log in to the SecMaster console.
2. Click in the upper left corner of the management console and select a region or project.
3. Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Security & Compliance > SecMaster.
4. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Workspaces > Management. In the workspace list, click the name of the target workspace.

5. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Security Orchestration > Playbooks. On the displayed page, click the Asset Connections tab.

6. In the Operation column of the target asset connection, click Edit. The Edit Asset Connection panel is displayed.
7. On the Edit Asset Connection page, edit the asset connection parameters. For details about the parameters, see Table 2.

   Parameter	Description
   Connection Name	Enter the name of the asset connection. The naming rules are as follows: Only uppercase letters (A to Z), lowercase letters (a to z), digits (0 to 9), and underscores (_) are allowed. A maximum of 64 characters are allowed.
   Description	(Optional) Enter an asset connection description. The description can contain a maximum of 64 characters.
   Plug In	Select the plugin required for the asset connection. For details about plugins, see Viewing Plug-in Details.
   Created By	The creator of the asset connection. This parameter cannot be modified.
   Created	Time the asset connection was created. This parameter cannot be modified.
   Modified By	The user who last modified the asset connection. This parameter cannot be modified.
   Connection Type	Select the type of the asset connection.
   Credential	Enter the credential information, such as AK and SK, based on the selected connection type.

8. Click OK. The asset connection has been edited.

Deleting an Asset Connection

1. Log in to the SecMaster console.
2. Click in the upper left corner of the management console and select a region or project.
3. Click in the upper left corner of the page and choose Security & Compliance > SecMaster.
4. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Workspaces > Management. In the workspace list, click the name of the target workspace.

5. In the navigation pane on the left, choose Security Orchestration > Playbooks. On the displayed page, click the Asset Connections tab.

6. Locate the row that contains a desired asset connection, click Delete in the Operation column.
7. In the confirmation dialog box, enter DELETE and click OK.
   

   Deleted asset connections cannot be restored. Exercise caution when performing this operation.
