Changing a DB Instance Name

Scenarios

You can change the name of a GaussDB(for MySQL) instance.

Procedure

1. Log in to the management console.
2. Click in the upper left corner and select a region and a project.
3. Click in the upper left corner of the page, choose Database > GaussDB(for MySQL).
4. On the Instances page, click next to your DB instance name, edit the DB instance name as required.
   • If you want to submit the change, click OK.
   • If you want to cancel the change, click Cancel.
   

   The instance name must start with a letter and consist of 4 to 64 characters. Only uppercase letters, lowercase letters, digits, hyphens (-), and underscores (_) are allowed.

   Alternatively, click the instance name to go to the Basic Information page. In the DB Instance Name field in the DB Instance Information area, click to edit the instance name.

   • If you want to save the change, click OK.
   • If you want to cancel the change, click Cancel.

5. View that the instance name has been changed. It takes less than 1 minute to change an instance name.
