[June 30, 2023] Huawei Cloud Host Security Service (New Version) Upgrade Notice

Dear customer,

Huawei Cloud Host Security Service (HSS) has been upgraded to 2.0. HSS (New) provides enhanced capabilities. To better protect your systems, you are advised to upgrade HSS as soon as possible. For details, see Upgrading the Agent. After the upgrade, the original quota can still be used and no extra fee is charged.

HSS (New) provides:

• A new agent that is more secure, reliable, and stable.
• Anti-ransomware solutions (dynamic bait files, and backup and restoration)
• Runtime application self-protection (RASP)
• Application vulnerability detection
• DJCP MLPS 2.0 L3 baseline check
• Custom security report
• A new and improved GUI

Upgrade impacts:

1. The HSS agent upgrade does not require server restart. It occupies only a few server resources and has little impact on services.
2. Currently, only HSS (New) quotas can be purchased. The quotas can be used only on the HSS (New) console.
3. The features of HSS (Old) will no longer be maintained or updated, but the existing protection capabilities will be retained. If you use the HSS (Old) agent, you can still use HSS (Old) functions. To improve overall security capabilities, you are advised to upgrade the agent.
