Stopping Backups
Scenarios
You can stop a backup that is being created and then delete it.
Constraints
- Only automated and manual backups that are being created can be stopped.
- Only physical backups can be stopped. CBR snapshot backups cannot be stopped.
- A backup that is being copied cannot be stopped.
- Backups of instances with sparse backup policies enabled cannot be stopped.
- After the automated and manual backups are stopped, they will no longer be billed.
- Use this function only when there is much data to be backed up and creating a backup takes too long.
- Full backups generated during instance creation or restoration or in other certain scenarios affect PITR performance and cannot be stopped.
Procedure
- Click
in the upper left corner and select a region. - Click
in the upper left corner of the page and choose Databases > Relational Database Service. - On the Instances page, click the DB instance name.
- In the navigation pane, choose Backups & Restorations and click Stop Backup.
- In the displayed dialog box, click OK to stop the backup that the instance is creating.
After the backup is stopped, stopBackup is displayed in the Description column. You can delete the stopped backup.
