Installing Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)

Scenarios

Create a standard image server as required and install the OS.

Procedure

The following uses Windows Server 2022 as an example.

  1. After the image server is prepared in Creating an Image, the page for installing the OS and software is displayed.
  2. Select the language to be installed, time and currency format, and keyboard and input method as prompted, and click Next.
  3. Click Install now.
  4. Select an OS (for example, Windows Server 2022 Standard) from the OS drop-down list box and click Next.
  5. Under Applicable notices and license terms, select I accept the Microsoft Software License Terms. If an organization is licensing it, I am authorized to bind the organization and click Next.
  6. Click Custom: Install Microsoft Server Operating System only (advanced).

    The Where do you want to install the operating system? window is displayed.

  7. Select the default disk and select the driver loading path, as shown in Table 1.

    The following uses Windows Server 2019 as an example. If no default disk is available, perform the following operations:

    1. Click Load Driver.
    2. Click Browse.
    3. Under CD Driver (X), select virtio-win > viostor > 2k19 > amd64 and click OK.
    4. Select the vioscsi.inf driver and click Next.

  8. Select a disk and click Next.

    Wait until the Microsoft Server OS installation is complete.

  9. After the installation is complete, the system automatically restarts. After the configuration is complete, you will enter the ECS.
