What Are the Differences Between IAM Users and IAM Identity Center Users?
This section describes the differences between IAM users and IAM Identity Center users.
IAM User
A user created by your account in IAM. You can assign permissions to it to access specific resources. Each IAM user has their own identity credentials (password and access keys) and uses cloud resources based on the assigned permissions. IAM users cannot make payments themselves. You can use your account to pay their bills.
IAM Identity Center User
A user created in IAM Identity Center. Associating the user with multiple accounts under the organization and configuring permissions allows login once to access resources across those accounts without repeated logins.
