Symptoms
The error message The service does not exist is displayed.
Cause Analysis
The IIS service is not installed or the service name is incorrect.
Solution
- View the IIS service name set in the task.
On the page for editing an application, click the Deployment Actions tab to view the service name.
- View the IIS service name on the local computer.
- Start the computer and open the control panel.

- Select Large icons and click Administrative Tools.

- In the window displayed, double-click Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. (If this item is not displayed, the IIS service is not installed on the local computer.)

- Click Sites. The Name column displays the service name.

- Start the computer and open the control panel.
- Compare the IIS service name set in the task with the actual service name. If the names are consistent, ensure that the IIS service has been installed on the host.
