Allocates a newly named SQL descriptor area.

ALLOCATE DESCRIPTOR name

name

Name of an SQL descriptor, case sensitive. This can be an SQL identifier or a host variable.

EXEC SQL ALLOCATE DESCRIPTOR mydesc;
