Managing Backups

Scenarios

DSS disk backups are created using CBR.

This section describes how to configure a backup policy for a disk. With backup policies configured, data on DSS disks can be periodically backed up to improve data security.

Backups can be created for disks only when the disks are in the Available or In-use state.

Creating a Disk Backup

Before backing up an EVS disk using CBR, you need to buy a disk backup vault, associate the disk with the vault, and then create a backup. Table 1 describes the procedure.
