Third-party Software Proxy Connectivity Test

  1. Use third-party tools to test the network and service connectivity between the proxy service and the business systems, encryption services, and databases; proactively identify any anomalies related to ports, permissions, or network paths to ensure there are no communication failures during the subsequent formal integration of the application.
  2. In the Operations column on the right side of the configured proxy service, click Start to launch the proxy service, as shown in Figure 1.

  3. Obtain the virtual IP address of the database encryption product from the Database Security Service (DBSS) management console; this IP address will replace the database's IP address, as shown in Figure 2. Traffic generated when an application connects to the database will pass through this proxy; the proxy will encrypt the fields in the application's data packets that require encryption before storing them in the database; the encrypted traffic returned by the database will then be decrypted and returned to the application.

  4. Use third-party tools to connect to the database within the same VPC; as shown in Figure 3, this illustrates the query results returned by DBeaver on a Windows computer within the same VPC – the query yields plaintext data, confirming that the proxy service has been configured successfully.
