Instance Management
Each database encryption instance corresponds to an independent database encryption system.
You can manage a database encryption instance after obtaining an account with the operation permission and its password.
Viewing the Instance List
- Log in to the DBSS console.
- Click
in the upper left corner on the displayed page and select a region. - In the navigation pane, choose . Figure 1 Instance list

Description
Instance Name/Resource ID
Instance name and resource ID.
Status
Status of the instance.
Instance Type
Type of the instance.
Instance Edition
Edition to which the instance belongs. It can be:
- Series 1
- Series 2
Virtual IP Address
Virtual IP address of the instance.
EIP
EIP bound to the instance. If no EIP is bound, -- is displayed.
Instance Version
Version of the database encryption instance when you create it. Instance versions may vary depending on the creation time.
The instance version will affect:
- Supported database types
- Supported database versions
Billing Mode
The billing mode is yearly/monthly.

Remote Login
- Method 1: Click Remote Login in the Operation column of the instance you want to remotely log in to.
- Method 2: Click Instance Name/Resource ID of the instance you want to remotely log in to. In the displayed page, click Remote Login in the upper right corner.
Renewal
- Click Renew in the Operation column of the instance you want to renew. In the displayed dialog box, click Yes. The Renew page is displayed.
- Confirm the instance information, and select the renewal duration, auto-renewal, and renewal date.
- Click Pay.
- Confirm the order information.
- Confirm the information and click Pay.
Enabling an Instance
- To log in to the instance whose Status is Disabled, enable the instance first.
- To log in to the instance whose Status is Abnormal, try to enable the instance to restore it first.
Enabling an Instance Operations
- Method 1: In the Operation column, choose Enable.
- Method 2: Click Instance Name/Resource ID of the instance you want to enable. In the displayed page, click Enable in the upper right corner.
Restarting an Instance
- For maintenance purposes, if the system becomes abnormal, you can restart the instance to restore its availability.
- Only the instance in the Running status can be restarted.
- Restarting an instance will interrupt system services for about 5 minutes. During this period, the status of the instance is Restarting.
- The instance is not available when it is being restarted.
Restarting an Instance Operations
- Method 1: In the Operation column, choose More > Restart.
- Method 2: Click Instance Name/Resource ID of the instance you want to restart. In the displayed page, click Restart in the upper right corner.
Disabling an Instance
- Only the instance in the Running status can be disabled.
- Once the instance is disabled, you will not be able to log in to the system.
Disabling an Instance Operations
- Method 1: In the Operation column, choose More > Disable.
- Method 2: Click Instance Name/Resource ID of the instance you want to enable. In the displayed page, click Disable in the upper right corner.
Changing a Security Group
- In the Operation column, choose More > Change Security Group.
- In the displayed dialog box, select Security Group and click OK.
Unbinding the EIP
- If you want to bind another EIP to the instance or release the current EIP, unbind it from the instance first.
- After the EIP is unbound, you cannot use the EIP to log in to the system.

Unbinding the EIP Operation
- In the Operation column, choose More > Unbind EIP.
- In the displayed dialog box, click OK.
- After the unbinding is successful, no IP address information is displayed in the EIP column, and Remote Login is grayed out.
Resetting the Password
- In the Operation column, choose More > Reset Password.
- In the displayed dialog box, set the new password, confirm it, and click OK.
- After the password is reset, you need to use the new password to log in to the system.
Enabling Auto-Renewal
Auto-renewal can be enabled only for instances that have not enabled the function.
- Choose More > Enable Auto-Renewal in the Operation column.
- In the displayed dialog box, click Yes. The Enable Auto-Renewal page is displayed.
- Confirm the instance information, select the auto-renewal period, set the number of auto-renewals, and click OK.
Modifying Auto-Renewal Settings
Auto-renewal settings can only be modified for instances with auto-renewal enabled.
- Choose More > Modify Auto-Renewal in the Operation column.
- In the displayed dialog box, click Yes. The Modify Auto-Renewal page is displayed.
- Confirm the instance information, select a renewal mode, and click OK.
Unsubscribing from the Instance
Unsubscription is not allowed while a transaction for the instance is in progress.
- In the Operation column, choose More > Unsubscribe.
- In the displayed dialog box, confirm the unsubscription information and click Yes to initiate the unsubscription process. After unsubscription is complete, the instance will not be displayed in the list.
