Expanding Vault Capacity
During a digital transformation, data volume increases explosively, and the vaults also need to be expanded accordingly to store the backups. For example, during major shopping festivals, an e-commerce enterprise needs to back up critical data—such as transaction records—at high frequency. In such cases, the original vault capacity may become insufficient and must be expanded promptly. Likewise, a research institute may require frequent backups to ensure data security throughout the progression of its projects. As data continues to accumulate, adequate vault capacity becomes essential. If the vault reaches its maximum capacity, any subsequent backup operations for resources associated with that vault will fail. To prevent backup failure, you can expand the vault capacity based on service requirements.
You can expand the size of a vault without interrupting services.
Billing
After the vault capacity is expanded, the storage fee is charged based on the new capacity. For details about billed items, see CBR Billing. For details about pricing, see CBR pricing details.

- Enter the new capacity. The default value is the current capacity plus 10 GB. The value ranges from the current size plus 1 to 10,485,760 GB in the unit of GB.
- Click Next. Confirm the settings and click Submit.
- Return to the vault list and check that the capacity of the vault has been expanded.
Auto Capacity Expansion
If you want a vault to be automatically expanded when its capacity is used up, enable auto capacity expansion.
If this function is enabled, the vault capacity will be automatically expanded to 1.25 times its current capacity when its capacity is used up.
Auto capacity expansion does not take effect if it is enabled after the vault is full.
Yearly/Monthly vaults do not support auto capacity expansion.
