Viewing a Global Application Topology

A global application topology means the topology of some or all components under an application.

  1. Log in to the APM console.
  2. Click on the left and choose Application > Application Performance Management.
  3. In the navigation pane, choose Application Monitoring > Metrics.
  4. In the tree on the left, click an application. The application details page is displayed.
  5. Click the Global Topology tab to view the call and dependency relationships of all components under the application.

    • Click a line between components. The detailed data such as the number of requests, average RT, and error rate is displayed on the right.
    • Enable Third-party invocation to view non-application internal call relationships.
    • Alarm Latency: can be 0.5s, 1s, 3s, 5s, or 10s.
    • Error Latency: can be 1s, 3s, 5s, 10s, or 15s.
    • Use tags to filter calls.
    • Click to obtain the latest information in the statistical period.
    • Click to download the topology.

  6. Right-click a component and then click Viewing a Call Chain or Viewing Indicators. For details, see 7.
  7. Click a line in the diagram. The detailed data such as the number of requests, average RT, and error rate, and line graphs are displayed on the right.

    • Click the drop-down list in the upper left corner of the line graph and select an instance.
    • Click in the upper right corner of the line graph. All instance views corresponding to a parameter are displayed.
    • The diagram shows the call relationships between components and enables you to check the traces between components.
      • The function of redirecting to the trace page is supported only by Agent 2.5.3 or later.
      • Click Viewing a Call Chain. The trace page is displayed, showing the trace information between components.
