Connecting Domain Name-based Website Services to AAD

If your services are provided via a domain name licensed by ICP, you can connect the domain name to AAD to safeguard against heavy-traffic DDoS attacks.

Limitations and Constraints

  • If the server protocol is HTTPS, you need to upload a certificate. Currently, AAD supports only certificates in PEM format.
  • A CNAME record is generated based on the domain name. For the same domain name, the CNAME records are the same.
  • If the origin server domain name is a CNAME, only a CNAME of Huawei Cloud WAF is supported.
  • You can select multiple lines (high-defense IP addresses) for a domain name. When selecting multiple high-defense IP addresses, ensure that the number of forwarding rules, the forwarding protocol, forwarding port, and service type configured for each AAD IP address are the same.

Procedure

Follow-up Operations

  • Configuring Cloud Eye alarms: DDoS attacks are growing in frequency, volume, and sophistication, posing a constant threat to your instances and IP assets. You can configure Cloud Eye alarms to receive alarms in a timely manner. For details, see Using Cloud Eye to Monitor Instances and Protected IP Addresses.
  • Configuring the full log service: After you enable Advanced Anti-DDoS, you can record attack logs to Log Tank Service (LTS). You can use the AAD logs recorded by LTS for real-time analysis, security operations and maintenance (O&M), and service trend tracking. For details, see Enabling Logging.
  • Editing a protected domain name: Click Edit in the Operation column of a domain name. The Modify Domain Name page is displayed. Edit parameters and click OK. For details, see Modifying Domain Name Configuration.
  • Deleting a protected domain name: Click Delete in the Operation column of a domain name. In the displayed dialog box, enter DELETE in the text box or click Auto Enter, and click OK. For details, see Deleting Domain Names.
  • You can update, view, upload, and delete certificates. For details, see Certificate Management.
